Year End Booking

Friday, November 6th, 2009

Whew! Things have really picked up here over the last few weeks. It seems like quarter 3 ran a bit slow for everyone this year, but now as year end approaches, the frantic fury of new work is spilling in. I’ve started several new business initiatives and company collaborations with lots of great local folks and businesses- one with my father that I think is really going to blow everyone’s socks off.

So far to the end of the year, I’ve booked: 5-6 website designs and layouts, 2-3 branding projects, 2-3 Flash-specific items and maybe a media player or two.  Yay, busy!

That being said if you’re looking to start a web initiative, book it soon! Contact me today for great home-spun company branding, affordable and easy to update websites, animated Flash pieces or any of my other services!

Web Terms Cheat Sheet

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

Since I both recognize that I have readers and clients that don’t innately understand all the techie jargon and acronyms I use on a near-daily basis, and sympathize with them in light of the amount I use these terms,  I decided to create a quick page detailing some of the more obscure crapola I blather on about.

Please check out the web terminology sheet page.

Authorize.net Reseller

Authorize.net Reseller

As a continuing effort to offer my customers the best value-added services money can buy, I’ve decided to become an official reseller/partner to Authorize.net- a leader in internet merchant / online credit card payment options. I’ve developed a number of excellent e-commerce solutions utilizing Authorize this year and must say they’re my favorite option for processing credit card payments online.

As an official reseller, integrating custom shopping carts and donation systems become even more seemless. Also as a bonus feature as going through me as your broker, there is no 3rd party customer service; you get direct access to Authorize.net staff as well as to me (an experienced developer and Authorize.net user).

Looking to take credit card orders online right now or need to add a store-front to an existing website?

Website Management

Website Management

After doing some work designing “template” concepts for use with data-driven websites for my associates at STF Enterprises, I decided to research some more of the top open-source (freebie) website management systems.

Recently I’ve been marketing a lot of sites built on the WordPress platform, which is great for the majority of my clients who really just want a simple “point and click” method to update their own sites.  I’ve become a huge fan and have come up with a lot of great “out-of-the-box” ideas using that platform, but this month I’m expanding into a broader scope: Joomla.

Joomla, while not as intuitive as WordPress, gives users greater ability to manage individual “modules” within their site, manage a wider spread of editable content and data, and have larger sets of individual users with a range of permissions to affect their info.

New Vector Service: Bulk Email / Newsletters

Friday, August 14th, 2009

After a nice discussion about selling products as well as services at IndieArsenal yesterday, I decided to offer a new service: bulk email / newsletters. I had done research on a number of different companies for several clients and unfortunately most of the rates from other newsletter companies were rather high and required minimum monthly payments. Many of them are obviously geared toward higher-end customers.

I’ve opted into a new service, available to any of my customers, that requires no minimum monthly rate- you pay for it as much as you use it. Essentially payment is based on the number of users you have signed up for your newsletter. Each email will be custom branded to your business and you’ll get your own login and password to use the service at your convenience.
